12' tall sun grown Queen Palm- only $199
Our Internet Special is a 12' tall Queen Palm (Arecastrum romanzofianum) which is grown in a 24" box. These palms are ready to move into 36" boxes- at which point they will cost $750. And being in a 24" boxed container makes for a very light, easily transportable and installed tree. The palms are California sun grown and not artificially stretched (a practice utilized in large chain stores which yields a tall, lanky weak plant that when moved outdoors usually dies).
Also adding to the hardiness of these Queens is the fact that the seed strain used for their propagation is from the large headed, fat trunked "Santa Catarina" variety trees which are native to the windy Santa Catarina Island off the coast of Brazil. It is a known fact that these fatter trunk trees have greater cold and wind tolerance than their skinny trunk counterparts. Visit our nursery soon before we pot these palms into 36" boxes.
